A client was recently married in July but her photographer had not taken shots of items such as her wedding favors, jewelry, tiara, program. I went to her home with camera and background materials in hand and set up shots of these items for use in her wedding scrapbook. She was very pleased with the results and so was I… see for yourself!

Christine & I have been busy these past few months with a variety of assignments. In particular we have both begun to shoot regularly for a local magazine called Barstool Magazine which focuses on Houston nightlife. We’ve mentioned it in this blog in the past. I wanted to share some favorites we have shot for the magazine:

Christine and I are thrilled to announce the opening of the Houstonist’s first photo exhibit. It is titled 600 sq mi: Photos from Houston. To summarize, the show is “a juried exhibition of photographs from Houston, from Main Street to the coastal prairie and everything in between. The photos show what makes Houston what it is: the buildings, the landscape, the people, the art, the taco stands, the shotgun houses, the freeways.” Along with the Houstonist, the exhibit is being co-presented with our local NPR station, KUHF.
What makes it even more thrilling is that both Christine and I had our works accepted for the show! Between the two of us, we have three photographs hanging on the walls at the gallery!
An opening reception will be taking place Saturday, September 8th from 7-10 PM. We will both be there and would love to see you there!
If you can’t make it Saturday night, no worries. The photo exhibit will be up for a month at MSquared Gallery in The Heights from September 5th - October 7th so if you can’t make it to the reception, please stop by the gallery in the coming month!
I had the opportunity to photograph a wonderful family recently. Their Mom’s birthday is this month and they kids wanted to have family portraits done. Originally we were going to shoot outside but the mosquitoes were swarming so we headed indoors. The family were all so lovely and it was a delight to photograph them - they were all smiles and you could really see how much they cared for each other. Below are a few of my favorite shots…

Hello everyone - hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day weekend spent with family and friends. I know that I did despite the constant rain. We had friends over and had a wonderful “gourmet” BBQ mostly prepared by my husband.
I also made my way out to Hermann Park Saturday afternoon to try to take pictures for a Flickr group I participate in called Assignment Houston. It is a group of local photographers and each month we are given a very specific assignment. Photographs submitted must be taken during that month so it forces you get out there and shoot. I know it has sparked a lot of my creativity in me over the last year and this month was not a disappointment.
Since the deadline is this week I drove out in the rain hoping it wouldn’t be too bad at the park. It was still sprinkling lightly but I decided to use my umbrella to protect myself and the camera from the rain. My perseverance was rewarded though when soon after arriving the rain let off and an umbrella was no longer needed. By the time I was returning to my car there was even some blue sky peeking through the clouds. Below are a couple of favorites from this rainy outing… I hope you enjoy!

Hello everyone - this is my first post here in our awesome new Fresh Photography blog and I am excited to share with you some vacation pictures. While Christine has been doing a whirlwind tour of portrait sessions and weddings, I followed her to New York and took a much needed vacation. I took over 1000 photos so bear with me if I throw a few of my favorites up here! Here is my favorite picture of the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset looking towards Manhattan.
More coming soon as they get edited…
